About Motherhoard
At Motherhoard, the goal is simple: to build GameCube controllers that feel like an extension of the player—no compromises, no workarounds.
Many players don’t realize how much their controller can hold them back. Stick drift, inconsistent inputs, and hardware degradation can all introduce unnecessary friction. That’s where Motherhoard comes in.
Founded in 2023, Motherhoard focuses on reliability, accessibility, and repairability. Most builds center around the Phob project, a custom motherboard that replaces aging analog hardware with Hall effect sensors. The motherboard offers greater long-term stability and remove common points of failure, all while preserving the classic feel of the GameCube controller.
Whether you're a new player or a seasoned competitor, every controller is built to the same high standard. That includes extensive quality checks, subtle mechanical refinements, and the kind of attention to detail you can’t get from mass production. Even standard options are built with long-term performance in mind—stabilized stick caps, trigger lubrication, stickbox tuning, and more.
Motherhoard also offers repair and restoration services, especially for OEM controllers that still have life left in them. There’s value in tools you’ve grown with, and where possible, it’s better to fix than replace.
This isn’t about flash—it’s about function. Every controller is made with the same intent: to give you a better tool, so you can focus on the game.
